About Coves Quay

Having worked and lived in Salcombe since the mid eighties, it has always been the aim of O&R to provide the West Country as a whole, with the latest works, of the professional artists, sculptors, and a wide range of ceramics from the notable potters that we are involved with.

Many people who go to galleries and private viewings, leave, either having purchased a work of art they cannot live without or wishing they could find a way to do so. One of our aims, is to provide to all of these groups, and also to local businesses who may wish to find privately a work of art for their offices or even for hotels who wish to have the availability of finding new works of art for their guests to enjoy. Many people buy second homes in the West Country and some properties are bought to be developed into apartments either for timeshare, letting or resale. Often pictures, limited edition prints, sculptures or ceramics are required and we also aim to be of service to this group of people.

Salcombe and most of Devon and Cornwall has changed enormously over the last decade, greatly due to the fast growing amount of people who come on holiday and leave with an aim to return and fulfil their dream of living in the West Country. Through our business, we have been tremendously lucky to have met an enormous amount of people, both local and visitors, who have been customers at the beginning and friends at the end! It was following this path that led us to where we eventually find ourselves today.

As from 26th June 1999, our office, working studio and gallery collection, is situated in one of the most central, private and peaceful residential areas of the town of Salcombe. The renowned model boat builder who occupied the building before us for 25 years found it to be a very happy and peaceful place to work from. We have updated the building and we now look forward to welcoming you to view our collection which has been gathered through the many delightful people that we know, through collectors, galleries and artist to artist. We have a lot of work to do over the next decade, as all of these artists, friends and contacts wish to help to make a success of O&R at Cove's Quay Gallery.
