| Lincolnshire born watercolourist David Rust studied
at Loughborough College of Art for four years in the early 1960's gaining
The National Diploma in Design (N.D.D.). He has worked as a full time artist since the late 1970's, a prolific painter dedicated to his job and a great lover of the British countryside particularly the Welsh border, Herefordshire, the Cotswolds and South Cornwall where he has lived since 1990. The inspiration for his paintings comes from the constant observation of his surroundings recorded in sketchbooks and developed later in his studio. During the 1980's he had work accepted regularly for The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour exhibitions at The Mall Gallery, London. He has regular one man and mixed exhibitions and is resident artist with several galleries in the south and east Midlands and Southwest Cornwall. His work continues to enjoy an ever-growing demand and can be found in private collections not only in this country but as far afield as America, Japan and Australia. |
