| JENNI PHILLIPS: |
| Jenni's family come from Cornwall, and she spent part
of her childhood there. She originally trained as an Art teacher, specialising in ceramics. While teaching and bringing up a family in East Cornwall, Jenni established a small studio at home with electric and gas kilns. Jenni has been making and selling pots for the last 3 years, alongside some part-time adult and higher education work. (She gained an MA in art history in 1996). Attending David Frith ceramics courses in North Wales, Easter, 2002 and 2003, Jenni has renewed her interest in reduction-fired stoneware. Jenni produces a range of functional earthenware pottery decorated with slip, sgraffito and under glaze colours. Her designs are often inspired by wild flowers, plants and the sea. She is also developing a small range of work in reduction-fired stoneware. Jenni exhibits through small exhibitions, and from the following galleries. Cry of the Gulls, Fowey, Juliet Gould Gallery, Mevagissey, Churchtown Arts, St Agnes, the Lander Gallery, Truro and here at Coves Quay Gallery, Salcombe. |
