MICHAEL STRANG:

Sample Work | CV

A prolific artist, who works from his studio in Gulval, near Penzance. Michael trained at Wimbledon and Camberwell Schools of Art between 1968 - 1973. Michael paints mostly in oil but sometimes in watercolour, landscapes, still life, portraits and other subjects. His style is unmistakable from a traditional manner to a heavily impastoed style of great strength and beauty.

A member of the Chelsea Arts Club, London, one of his paintings was chosen for the 1999 Chelsea Arts Club Year Book. Two of his paintings are on view in the permanent Collection of the Penlee House Gallery. A series of over fifty small Porthmeor paintings were exhibited at the Tate Gallery, St Ives and he has also exhibited at the Royal Academy, London, from where he has sold his work to collectors.

Michael, an artist with enormous generosity to many charitable causes, pursues perfection in his work, not unlike Turner, Constable, Soutine and others who have influenced him. Michael will be exhibiting here during the forthcoming year, having not exhibited here since A B Galleries closed. We are delighted by his request to do so as he has been missed by his admirers.
