Nigel
Hallard
An artist from the Midlands area of England, was born in 1936. After
training as an Engineer and a varied career which included Interior
Design and Portrait Painting, he moved in 1969 to a small village
called Mousehole which is in the South West of England in Cornwall
very near to Lands End.
He now specialises in Landscapes and Seascapes which are rendered
in a variety of styles and techniques to suit the mood and the subject,
as a result his work ranges from the traditional to the modern.
In 1989 he purchased his 17th centuary studio in Dinan, Brittany.
Here, his style and interests were influenced again, as he discovered
the new images and subjects of France. He now paints generally in
the impressionist manner.
Many of his paintings have been published with more to be printed
in the near future, and he holds regular exhibitions in the Midlands
and at his Garden Studio in Mousehole, Cornwall. Here, surrounded
by the pots, brushes, frames and materials required for his work,
he feels most at home and he sees his studios as creation centres,
distilling and simplifying his images of the wonderful landscapes
in the parts of the world that he has chosen to be his home.
He now divides his time between France, the Midlands and Cornwall,
where in each place the light is completely different and of course
constantly changing.
In 1987 he discovered the Midland Industrial Scene of his youth and
several important comissions have increased his involvement with art
for industry.
He has had successful one man exhibitions in Oman and Bahrain, the
result of Painting for long periods in the Middle East.
His work has been purchased by many companies and individuals some
